All of the following events are for Studio 2B, Cadette and/or Senior Age Level Girl Scouts 11- 17 years old and in 6th through 12th Grades. Troops, “Juliettes” (Independent registered girls) or In-School Girl Scouts may participate in any of these events. Please check age or school grade limits on each program.

Kick It Off at Camp Mom & Me

August 18, 2007

Kick the year off right by attending the QSP/Candy Nut Sale Training for leaders at Camp Tik-A-Witha, and bring your daughter/daughters to enjoy swimming, canoeing, games and arts and crafts while you attend training. 
You’ll both share lunch together in the dining hall.
 
Who:  Troop Leaders or Product Sales Chairs and their Daughters
Where:  Camp Tik-A-Witha
Time:  10:00am – 2:00pm
Cost:  $5.00 per person for lunch
Capacity:  Minimum:  20 girls    Maximum:  100 girls

Geyser Falls Girl Scout Day

August 25th or 26th, 2007

Enjoy a day at Geyser Falls with your family, or troop!  You must use a Geyser Falls Day Registration form for this event.  Registration forms are available online OR
you can call the Tupelo Office and we will fax or mail you a form!

Who:  All Girl Scouts and their families from all over the state.
Where:  Geyser Falls Water Park – Choctaw, MS
Time:  10:30am – 5:00pm

Survivor!

August 24-25, 2007

Start a fire without matches, build a shelter in nature, find food and water, learn to tell directions without a compass and more – Can you outwit & outlast the world around you? Come build your survivor skills at Camp TAW.

Time: Friday 6:00 until Saturday 2:00

Trail Trekkers

September 7-9, 2007

Calling all girls who want to travel deep into the woods and experience a camping trip like no other.  The trek will include ( but not be limited to ) backpacking, hiking, and cooking in the beautiful Sipsey Wilderness.
 
Who: Cadettes and Seniors   
Where: Starting at Tupelo office, then traveling to the Sipsey Wilderness in Alabama    
Time:  6:30pm, Friday – 3:00pm, Sunday  
Early Bird Cost:  $20.00 per girl
Regular Cost: $25.00 per girl
Meals included: Saturday breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner; Sunday breakfast

Silver and Gold Training

September 15, 2007

Let us help you unravel the mystery in your quest for Silver or Gold.  We’ll help you cover the ins and outs, like paperwork, requirements, timing and deadlines.  Parents are welcome to attend and leaders should accompany their troops.  This training is MANDATORY for any girl who wishes to pursue her Silver or Gold Award.  Necessary books are included in the training price.  Troops should indicate which award they are working on when they register.

Early Bird Encampment

September 21-22, 2007

Come together for a Girl Scout Jamboree at Bonds Farm! (Next to Camp Tik-A-Witha)  Those troops who participated in Spring Registration or Early Bird Registration are invited to attend this primitive campout.  Troops will need to bring tents for camping.  Friday night supper and Saturday breakfast, and lunch will be provided.  Port-a-potties will be available.  Troops do NOT need TCL training in order to attend.  There will be games, swaps, a campfire and songs.
 
Who:  Troops who registered early through Spring Registration or Early Bird Registration
Where:  Bonds Farm, Chickasaw County – directions will be in the confirmation packets
Cost:  $2.00 per person to off-set the cost of food.
Meals Included:  Friday night supper and Saturday breakfast and lunch

Yellin' & Repellin'

October 5-6, 2007

Ready for an extreme adventure?!?  We will camp in Tishomingo State Park on a primitive camp ground on Friday. Then on Saturday, we will hike, rappel and rock climb all under the watchful eye of trained instructors.

Plastic Canvas Crafts

October 13, 2007

Do you enjoy making crafts? Adults and Seniors come spend the morning learning yarn stitches to enhance plain plastic canvas into unique decorations and gifts.  You will then be able to teach this craft to younger girl scouts.

Amazing Race

October 20, 2007

Ready for the ultimate?  Come learn to read a map and use a compass, then join us in an orienteering race through Camp Tik-A-Witha.  Find your check points, pass the challenge, cross the finish line – Victory! Don’t forget to bring your sack lunch, drinks will be provided.

Race for the Cure

October 27, 2007

Cookie Carnival

January 5, 2008

It’s a Cookie Carnival!  Come and enjoy games, prizes, and lots of fun for girls of all ages!  Bring the family or come with your troop!  No admission fee, tickets are $1 for 4 and most activities and games are 2 tickets each.  Pre-order your tickets for the discounted price of 5 for $1.00. All registered Girl Scouts (girl & adult) will receive a Cookie Rally patch for bringing an ink cartridge for recycling.  Also, bring any used/like-new Girl Scout uniforms, shirts, books, and camp equipment to be auctioned at 3:00 p.m.
Register early – no drop offs. 
All children must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or troop leader.

Leader In Training

January 19, 2008

Senior Girl Scouts can earn their LIT Training Pin at this workshop focusing on Leadership.  Girls are trained to assist with a younger troop and must complete 25 hours of direct work with a troop in order to complete the program.  Cost includes materials and the LIT Pin.

Songfest TAW!

January 26, 2008 – Enjoy a morning of songs and fun!  Come to camp and learn all of those awesome camp songs you love to sing.
If you love to sing, then this is a day just for you.  Girls will earn a participation patch.

Whether you are just getting your license or are already behind the wheel, we’ll help you become a safe and savvy driver and cool car consumer.   Your day will be packed with information and a tour of the Tupelo Automobile Museum.  Bring your sack lunch with drink.
